What to do when Microsoft Azure is down
- Check the Azure status page filtered to your specific region and service, since Azure incidents are usually scoped to particular regions rather than global.
- Sign in to the Azure Portal's Service Health blade if you can, which shows incidents affecting your actual subscriptions that never appear on the public status page.
- Test whether the Azure Portal itself or your deployed resources are failing, since portal outages sometimes occur while the underlying workloads keep running untouched.

Microsoft Azure alternatives to use in the meantime
For end users, apps hosted on Azure come back only when the incident resolves, since AWS and Google Cloud are not drop-in substitutes at the application level. Is it Azure or Microsoft 365 that is down?
Azure (the cloud platform) and Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, and so on) are distinct but share the Entra ID sign-in system, so an identity incident can hit both. Check Azure status and the Microsoft 365 service health page separately to pinpoint which one is degraded.
