What to do when Twitter / X is down
- Check whether only posting is broken while your timeline still scrolls, since X's posting and feed-loading services often fail independently of each other.
- Switch from the X app to the mobile web version at mobile.x.com — a broken app build sometimes affects only app users while the browser client keeps working.
- Turn off any VPN or proxy, since X blocks many VPN and datacenter IP ranges outright, which looks identical to a service outage.

Twitter / X alternatives to use in the meantime

Why is my Twitter / X timeline not loading?
A frozen timeline is usually either an X server incident or aggressive rate limiting on your account or IP. If our check shows X is up, try logging out and back in, or switching between the app and the browser version.
