    About Google outages

Google Search is the backbone of the web for most users — genuine google.com outages are so rare that when search fails, the cause is almost always local: DNS, browser, or network trouble on the user’s side.

Google publishes official incident updates at its status page — worth checking alongside our live test above.

    Google FAQ

Google won’t load — is Google actually down?

Almost never. Google Search runs on globally redundant infrastructure, so google.com failing for you usually means a DNS, router, or ISP problem locally. If our external check reaches Google while you cannot, start by restarting your router or switching DNS servers.

Why do Gmail and Drive fail while Google Search works?

Google Workspace apps run on separate service stacks from Search, and Google tracks each on its Workspace status dashboard. A Workspace authentication incident can take out Gmail, Drive, and Docs together while Search remains completely unaffected.

Is Google down for everyone or just me?

We test Google (https://google.com) live from our own servers. If our check succeeds but you still can't connect, the outage is probably local to you — try another network or device, clear your cache, or check Google's official status channels.
